Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)
Creative Craft
We're pleased to tell you that we've been developing a portfolio of craft specific qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3. These qualifications will be based on our existing Creative Craft qualifications and will allow learners to progress through the craft process and then create a final craft item. There are very little changes from the existing Creative Craft qualifications to the QCF versions, all we've done is remove any duplication and re-ordered some of the assessment criteria to make them even easier to follow! If you'd like any further information on this then please contact us and we'll be happy to explain the changes.
The go-live dates are as follows:
Level 1 Award in Creative Craft - 31 July 2009
Level 2 Award in Creative Craft - 1 September 2009
Level 3 Certificate in Creative Craft - 25 September 2009
Although not all of the craft options available on the current Creative Craft qualifications will be available on the new QCF qualifications, we've made sure that all options can be covered within the new qualifications. Please see here for further information.
The Qualification Specifications and Candidate Learning Logs (CLLs) are available to download via Qualification Finder on the home page.
As an alternative to the CLLs we've also produced generic Activity Sheets and Assessor sheets which can be used for recording and signing off learners evidence if you don't want to use the CLLs. The links to these or below and you can also download these from the Qualification Finder link.

You might be wondering what's going to happen with our existing Creative Craft qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (100/3164/9; 100/3165/0; 100/3166/2)? These are all accredited on the NQF up until 31 August 2010 - they'll continue to be available until this date with no changes. This is to allow you sufficient time to move to the new QCF qualifications and make the transition as easy as possible.
NCFE Level 2 Extended Certificate in Creative Craft 500/2334/2
We’d like to inform you that the above qualification will expire on 31 August 2010.
We’ve made this decision based on information we’ve received from Ofqual that learners can now take multiple QCF Creative Craft qualifications and can add their point scores together.
The only thing you need to make sure is that the qualifications you wish to do together have different discounting codes.
