QCA centre support team
The role of QCA Centre Support for 2009 is to support centres and consortia with generic advice and guidance on operational arrangements and understanding of the Diploma processes.
QCA Centre Support Officers and Consortium Support Managers will track Diploma administration in centres and consortia and arrange targeted support for those found to be experiencing difficulties.
Centres will also be able to access generic advice, guidance and support from QCA Support staff. Advice, guidance and support regarding specific Diploma qualifications will be available from CABs and DABs as appropriate, once selected. Generic advice on Diploma administration will always be available from the QCA Centre Support team.
The QCA Centre Support team will, as centres require, provide:
- Advice, guidance and support to help centres understand what they need to do to administer key Diploma processes
- Generic support where a centre has not chosen a DAB for a specific line of learning, to get them to a point where the DAB can support them. This might include, for example, helping centres understand how they should organise themselves (without suggesting to them who should do what). It could also cover helping exams officers understand how to use the Diploma aggregation service, including using it to select and notify a DAB of relevant learners
- Help to identify further support where it is needed. The QCA Centre Support team will monitor individual consortium progress. Where consortia are considered to be in need of support, a full review will take place and tailored support will be provided from the appropriate source. "Chase" activity for generic tasks that have yet to be completed will also be undertaken by QCA support staff.
QCA support staff will not provide any advice on specific Diploma products, DAB specific procedures or commercial arrangements. QCA will always refer centres to the relevant DAB or CAB for advice in these matters.
