Foundation Learning

What is Foundation Learning?

Foundation Learning aims to improve the skills of learners working below level 2, aged 14 and over, through developing high-quality credit-based qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1 in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Foundation Learning was known as the Foundation Learning Tier until August 2009.

It aims to raise and support engagement, participation, achievement and progression through Entry Level and Level 1.

What are we doing about it?
We've developed some of our qualifications to ensure they meet the requirements of Foundation Learning. We've informed QCDA of our development plans and we're working with Sector Skills Councils to ensure they're happy to support our developments in this area.
