Basic Skills


Basic Skills are the primary skills needed by adults to get on in life such as reading, writing and number skills. Basic Skills are only offered at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2
 
NCFE offer the following Basic Skills qualifications:
  • Entry Level Certificate in Adult Literacy (including Spoken Communication)
  • Level 1 Certificate in Adult Literacy
  • Level 2 Certificate in Adult Literacy
  • Entry Level Certificate in Adult Numeracy
  • Level 1 Certificate in Adult Numeracy
  • Level 2 Certificate in Adult Numeracy
  • Entry Level Certificate in ICT

 

NCFE's Entry Level qualifications are assessed via a portfolio of evidence which is internally assessed and moderated, and externally moderated.
NCFE’s Level 1 and 2 Basic Skills qualifications are externally assessed through the National Literacy and National Numeracy tests.
